Speaking with reporters before going to California for a town hall meeting, President Obama made some news. Forget the "the buck stops with me" business. More importantly, he announced that he wants to set up a "resolution authority" with powers similar to the FDIC to resolve the AIG situation once and for all, and -- presumably -- to regulate the insurance industry from now on.
